Doubling the Impact: Hurricane Helene Relief in North Carolina

In Partnership with Samaritan’s Purse

In the wake of Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact across North Carolina, the Virts Miller Foundation launched an emergency matching campaign in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse to deliver vital relief where it was needed most.

Through this initiative, the Foundation matched 100% of every donation—doubling the reach and impact of every dollar given. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our supporters, more than $60,000 was raised to aid recovery and rebuilding efforts.

Samaritan’s Purse responded swiftly, deploying a comprehensive disaster relief operation across the hardest-hit regions, including:

  • Establishing relief hubs in counties like Watauga and Buncombe, where flooding and storm damage left widespread destruction.
  • Mobilizing teams of local and national volunteers to remove debris, repair homes, and offer spiritual and emotional support to residents in need.
  • Distributing emergency supplies—such as food, clean water, tarps, and generators—to families cut off from basic necessities.

We are profoundly grateful to all who contributed to this urgent effort. Together, we brought hope, help, and healing to communities in crisis—and demonstrated the power of compassion in action.
